The Parish of Saint Ursula, Virgin and Martyr was founded in 1612, a milestone that would mark the history of the beautiful place known until then as “Fuente de Chimaque”. From very early on this was an area of transit, a «port», which connected the Orotava Valley with Tacoronte and Acentejo.

Santa Úrsula lies at the nexus of two regions, where the lords of La Orotava had their lands and left their way of life, but that coexists with the climate of a privileged area and which has its roots in the post-conquest Acentejo partitions.

Over the centuries the town that has become a unique place, with excellent agricultural products, especially wine. It possesses beautiful and extraordinary places to explore such as the Acentejo coast, the copse “Bosquete de los Sanguinos” or its beautiful wineries and “guachinches”. Memorable highlights are those special days, the festivities in honour of the patron saint, «The Lady Santa Úrsula».
